Trump Rallies Oklahoma Republicans, Backs Mazzei and Hern With 33 Days to Midterms

US President Donald Trump on Thursday held his first public rally in Oklahoma since 2020, telling a packed crowd at the Choctaw Event Center in Durant that the future of his “America First” agenda depends on Republicans turning out to vote, according to The Oklahoman’s live coverage.

Appearing nearly two hours later than planned after rain delayed his arrival, Trump warned that his signature tariffs and immigration crackdown could be at risk if the GOP loses control of Congress. “Just 33 days from now the people from Oklahoma are going to defeat the radical left Democrats once again,” he said.

Trump used the rally to back three Republican candidates: Mike Mazzei, the GOP nominee for Oklahoma governor facing Democratic state House leader Cyndi Munson; Congressman Kevin Hern, running for Oklahoma’s vacant US Senate seat; and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in his Senate bid. He said Mazzei trailed by 22 points when he endorsed him and went on to win, and claimed a Republican victory would put “$5,000 in your pocket”, according to The Oklahoman.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin took the stage before Trump, urging voters not to take the midterms lightly. Hundreds of supporters waited hours in the rain to get into the arena, according to the paper.

The rally shared the night with the only scheduled debate between Mazzei and Munson, which was moved to a pre-recorded format so Mazzei could attend the event, according to KTOK. Earlier on Thursday, Trump also stopped in Denton, Texas, where he campaigned for Paxton at a Peterbilt Motors plant, the New York Post reported.
