Programme Anchor
Abdul Mannan is a programme anchor at 24 News HD, where he hosts crime programming — including more than two hundred episodes of “Mujrim Kon?”.
“Mujrim Kon” began in 2017 and ran until 2021. Abdul Mannan hosted and led the programme, recording more than 200 episodes over nearly four years.
Most episodes were built on investigative journalism and sting operations, exposing individuals and networks behind crime and social evils across Pakistan. The investigations did not stop at private individuals and organisations — government departments and public institutions were also brought under the lens through undercover operations and investigative reports.
The work came at a heavy price. Abdul Mannan and his family faced serious threats, including threats to their lives, and he survived a life-threatening attack during those years. He was threatened, pressured from different quarters, and offered money to stop — yet he refused to shut the programme down, carrying on until more than 200 episodes were complete.
A video record exists of an attack carried out during the “Mujrim Kon” years — an incident also referred to in live television transmission at the time. The entire chapter stands as a testament to Abdul Mannan’s investigative journalism: his courage, and his experience of reporting under the most challenging circumstances a journalist can face.
His anchoring combines newsroom rigour with a presenter’s command of long-form television: holding an audience through complex stories, night after night.
