Anthropic Targets Mid-November IPO at Up to $2 Trillion Valuation, Bloomberg Reports
Anthropic is seeking to go public as soon as mid-November, Bloomberg reported on October 1, citing people familiar with the matter. The maker of the Claude chatbot could begin formal marketing for its initial public offering as early as the week of November 9, a timetable that would put its shares trading before the Thanksgiving holiday on November 26, when dealmaking usually slows.
Prospective investors are reportedly valuing the company at between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion in the offering, a figure that would rank Anthropic among the most valuable companies in the world. The plans follow earlier delays and remain subject to change, according to the report.
The November target was independently flagged by The Wall Street Journal last month, which reported that the listing would land later than the October debut many investors had expected, and after the US midterm elections on November 3. Anthropic confidentially filed a draft S-1 registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 1, without setting a share count or price.
A prospectus reviewed by Reuters showed the company’s revenue reached nearly $4.6 billion in 2025, a twelve-fold increase, while it posted a net loss of about $42 billion and flagged $518 billion in future cloud, computing and infrastructure obligations. The filing also devoted substantial space to what the company described as “existential risks to humanity” from its most advanced products. Anthropic declined to comment on the timing report.
