Anthropic Commits $100 Million to Train 10,000 Engineers in Claude Frontier Academy

Anthropic has announced a $100 million commitment to a new training programme, Claude Frontier Academy, aiming to produce 10,000 “frontier deployed engineers” by the end of 2027, the company said on Friday.

The academy targets what Anthropic describes as one of the most pressing bottlenecks in corporate AI adoption: a shortage of people who can turn powerful AI systems into secure, reliable tools running in production inside real businesses. Rather than training its own staff, Anthropic will draw participants from its Claude Partner Network, with the first cohorts coming from firms including Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Novo Nordisk, according to CRN.

The opening programme, the Frontier Deployed Engineer Residency, is modelled on medical training. Participants begin with several days of in-person sessions — including a simulated enterprise deployment and a graded assessment — then spend 12 weeks running a live Claude project inside their own organisation, supported by Anthropic engineers, before a final assessment. Those who pass receive a credentialed badge, with the first badges expected in early 2027, Cybernews reported.

Training is under way in San Francisco, New York and London, and participation is by nomination only, with each nominee arriving with a specific Claude project to lead.

“No AI company has invested in developing that talent inside its customers and partners at this depth,” said Steve Corfield, Anthropic’s global head of business development and partnerships, in the company’s announcement.
